CNY Lunch at Realfood Cafe
The Sunday that just passed was the last day of the Chinese New Year celebrations. Organic Living had organised a CNY luncheon at the Realfood Cafe (110 Killiney Road, Somerset MRT), an organic vegetarian restaurant and 40% of the proceeds went to the Awareness Place Wellbeing Centre. We were honored to have Jee Yang, the owner of Realfood Cafe, design the menu for us!

Mummy, look what I got you!
So, my 7 year old and I trundled back home from school and as soon as we stepped in the house, he pulled out a handful of ring pulls he had collected from the school canteen. "Mummy", he said "I think you will find these very useful and you can make something out of them".

When he handed them over to me, he even added that he would keep a look out for more of them at school. At that moment, I wasn't thinking about what I was going to do with the ring pulls, but more of how good it was to experience this moment with him, and that my upcycling craftiness is rubbing onto him!

Population Paper

Well, it has been a week since our government released the Population Paper. There's been a lot of debate about the "golden" figure of a projected population of 6.9 million by 2030 and the need to intensify construction of infrastructure to meet this. The intentions are so that we can further grow or maintain our economy.
I thought this article by Robin Chan raised three very important questions:
1) What is the population limit?
2) How much growth is enough?
3) Is this the only path?
Do you think we should continue to grow? Are we just chasing the dollar?
